Last Friday, My dear brother in low passed away a little un expected, on an age of 72 much to Young after suffering with hiss health several years.
With the pigeons it was also not nice. It was a rain weekend over all Holland and Belgium, the pigeons wait and wait with their fanciers, and on Saturday they drive back with the youngsters from Belgium to 45 km on Roosendaal in our country, but even there it was not possible to put them out. They then decide to drive back Saturday evening to Belgium, because there was expected that there will be a short periode without rain and maybe some sun, but…that better periode was in the night and early morning, so on Sunday again wait and wait, and again they drive back to 45 km in Thoolen, were they put the out around 15hour Sunday.
I had the 1e and this 3 minutes in front in My club, and 3e price in the combine with across again from Benjamin hen with Bliksem cock , but it will not count for points because it was only 45 km
Old pigeons I have send 21 in perfect condition, and the same, wait after wait, they drive back from 360 km to 217 km and put them out Saturday 15 hour. It seems to optimistic, because the arrivals were very bad. My worst race this Year, with place 7 of the only 160 pigeons in the club and around place 50 in the combine. This also will not count in points in the combine because the rules say too much km back.
Next to his on this rain weekend, My dear brother in low passed away a little un expected, on an age of 72 much to Young after suffering with hiss health several years.
So, a bad weekend here.
We look forwards to next weekend and hope that will be better.
Kind regards,
Your Friend from Holland

Joe Murphy is verry succesfull with the van Rijn offsprings!

Hi Adrian hope you are well Just to let you know that my son Kevin and I have been doing well with the offspring from a hen I bought of you a few years back. I bought 4 but kept this one as she bred a hen who won 4 x SNFC prizes inland for us her name was 'Lucky' as she was caught with a hawk when a baby and my grandson named her. Anyway 2 half sisters of Lucky bred from your hen GB10T 37024 I named her Jenny after your dear late wife. Her sire is done from Benjamin 793 and her dam was a g g daughter of Legend. The 2 hens have won in this years Scottish nationals for us and I have cut out extracts from my Joe Murphy Column to let you see.
Scottish national who were racing from Buckingham with 495 members sending 4169 birds -Then 20 minutes later at 15-22 as Kevin was in the loft attending to the Leicester birds Margaret said loudly there is a blue hen on the way into the loft. This turned out to be his first national pigeon from Buckingham and 10 minutes later her sister drop onto the loft and 6 minutes later he timed a yearling hen; and he finished up with 17 home from his entry of 20 birds at the national, so was very pleased with his bird’s efforts on the day. Kevin ended up winning 2nd Angus federation 37th section C 112th open with his first bird she is a half-sister to ‘Lucky’ (same dam) who won 4 times for us in SNFC inland racing. Her mother is named ‘Jenny’ and was bred by fellow scribe Adrian Duggins from his Leo Van Rijn bloodlines and I named her after Adrian’s late wife. The sire of the blue hen was a direct Leo Van Rijn cock I purchased from Holland with the help of Adrian. Kevin’s 2nd pigeon is a full sister to his first bird and she won 70th section C 202nd open and this is her 2nd national certificate as she won 63rd open from Ypres last year.
The Scottish national sent a great entry of 6065 birds to the Buckingham inland national with a few extra hundred birds that were convoyed by the national but only competed for federation prizes and the total could be about 7000 birds. Kevin won 4th Angus federation 9th section C 26th open with his first bird she is a half-sister to ‘Lucky’ (same dam) who won 4 times for us in SNFC inland racing. Her mother is named ‘Jenny’ and was bred by fellow scribe Adrian Duggins from his Leo Van Rijn bloodlines and I named her after Adrian’s late wife. She was our 2nd bird from Buckingham a couple of weeks ago and won 70th section C 201st open from 4169 birds she had previously won 25th section C 63rd open from Ypres last year so now has 3 national certificates to her name. Her sire was a direct Leo Van Rijn cock I purchased from Holland with the help of Adrian.
Hope you find the above interesting and if you have another hen as good as Jenny in your loft at a reasonable price then please let us know
Yours in sport
Joe Murphy
On our Provincial race from Bourges,  557 km ,  I have send 10 pigeons and not more because there was again unstable weather expected, with rain now, and a strong bad western site wind, who made we will have no any change here on the west site of the province South Holland.
When I basked the pigeons I found that My best nominated 4, all have thought the 1 flight in the last 48 hours, what is bad luck. My experience is that they will win no price as long as the new feather of the 1e flight,  stay closed, is not coming open. So I only could  pray that in the basked in the next 30 Hours the 1e flight of them will open.
That was at 3 of them not the case , and so again yes, that nominated top pigeons, just mist there price.
However, the other pigeons were doing well, and the results on Bourges were 7 of My 10 pigeons in the price with local in the club price 2-4-5-6-13-15-16 on 73 p was in the combine on 1137 pigeons 26 -44-47-67 -193-207-215.
provincial west it was only place 65 were I started and all mas pigeons now on the east site as expected, next time better wind we pray.
Middle-Distance Pontoise a great success!

Today 17 June 2017 we had a race from Pointoise , distance 357 KM, with a NNW wind, and a quiet closed cloudy sky. Our pigeons  have go out as only province in Holland at 7 a clock, and it have be better that they have wait also 1 hour more,  like the rest of Holland, because the cloudy sky go a little open when our pigeons were at home already.
The race however was done in a 20-22 minutes, not bad but also not real good with the arrivals all around on the lofts, but al pigeons returned well.
Today I have again the 1e price of 167 pigeons in My village ,  and this was place 6 in the combine on 2771 pigeons and 15 place provincial west site on 7001 pigeons, and 16 of My 27 pigeons in the price on system 1 to 4. The winner is My 2 years cock from My Blue Power with the Abeele hen of Bliksem 781.
The circumstances are with the weather last weeks on a row not easy, so I have to be happy that I am lucky with weekly 1e price and top in the area.

Leo van Rijn wins 1 and 2 at Peronne

Here on the short race from Peronne , I won again the 1e and 2e price in club what was a little too late in the combine with 22 and 23 on 2725 pigeons. Too late because I get 1 cock from high in the sky taking a little too much time when the second arrived and no 1 go to nr 2 and made some fun together in the sky, and that cost me a small minute together and a lot of this 22 places before me in the combine,  because they arrived with high speed because of a southern tail wind, the lost time cost me a lot better places.

On race 2 from 554 km we expect a quick race but it was a little dead sky, there was a circle round the sun (a hallo),  and  a lot of swallows and seagulls circling around, what was the sign that it was not a quick race but a disturbed race. I won price 22 in the combine on 1559 pigeons what was  2 -6-10 -15 in club ad 5 of 8 in the price list.

Again today I better have nothing to complain with My small race team but be happy with the results.

1-2-3 Middle Distance Roye
AGAIN TO DAY I STARTED WITH 1-2-3
Today , Sunday 4 June, we raced from Roye , and I started with 1-2-3-7-12-14-16-19-20-22 etc total 18 in the prices from 27 send, and in the combine I started with 10-16-21 on 2556 pigeons
Much less pigeons as the week before after the bad races , a lot pigeons lost every were and a lot pigeons at home at the fanciers.
1e price this week with a top Yearling from WONDERE DIRK x a hen of Bliksem
2e price again 1 of my few UNO pigeons who won the day race last week
3e Benjamin x Bliksem cross (from daughter of My National ACE Marja
And following this with several of King & Keizer line Family

Here the weather yesterday on the race, was difficult again, as always in May, with the continue changing weather and temperature. We now have a tropical day, with more as 30 Celsius and a very soft south eastern wind, now any cloud, and burning sun.

Yesterday I won on a tough day race of 533 km with a hot south east wind 1 -2 -4 local(difficult and tough race, at evening 45% of the pigeons was not at home all around by other fanciers) I had 3 pigeons in concourse of My UNO day race pigeon line, and with this price 1-2-4 they were all 3 at home before most fancies even have a pigeon seen at the sky.

This was with this difficult and for me bad wind, provincial against 1102 fanciers and 18464 pigeons in concourse , price 23 and 28 and 286 provincial, and this even with Yong 2016 pigeons. The are Yearling childeren from the UNO hen NL09-1080223

We had also a short race, and they decide to change the plan and go to a very east place , very stupid, and that made as we told before the race extra disturbed with this disturbed south eastern wind. And that happened. Even now on Sunday morning, I read on My whats up, that 30% of the pigeons of this race and form the day race , from both still is not returned on most lofts

(I started on this Vitesse race from Chimay, unfortunately with price 4-6-7, and I have 21 of 23 pigeons at home)

First race a great succes!

I have put all My hens and cocks in the basked, what is a total this year of 47 pigeons . I start with
1-4-5-7-8-9-10-13-17-18-19-20- 21- etc in club on 331 pigeons and in the combine on 5793 pigeons this was 6-37-38-40-44-46-69-76-86-90-91-99-100 (=13 in 1e 100) total of 30 prices of the 47.The hens doing the very best.
The top pigeons were mostly all of the old lines, and the 1e price winner, It was again a hen of My old lines , King/Keizer, /Hattrick mix, (father Hattrick 790 x Frederica 947) who won the 1e. However, she arrived as no 4, but coming in strait, were another 3 pigeons decide to show around some more to show the boss they feel good and happy. The 3 who lost the 1e because they don’t come in direct, were daughter from Bliksem 395 x Benjamina 907 , and daughter Keizer 010 Mr Perfect x Willem de Bruin Schanulleke , and son Jannie 537 (the champion from Keizer/Hattrick line ) x UNO 827 .
Also the 2 trainings races last 2 wks, they were arrived like this, very well.
I do nothing as most light food (and not much), to try to let them come in quick. The distance made they need no fet corns, only sugar corns, and nothing more this 1e weeks.
5 combine winners 2016 of Leo van Rijn

8. Best fancier of the Netherlands!!

Leo van Rijn is a fantastic racer and also 2016 was fabulous again. He became 8 best pigeon  fancier WHZB-TBOTB of Holland and he has also the 14. best pigeon of Holland. A great result, because Leo lives at the West side of the Section and that is really bad. This is the proof of Leo's quality pigeons!

HERE IT WAS A GOOD RACE TODAY
After the start last wk with a test race where I start with  1-5-6-9  (wind north east) in my combine against 1626 pigeons (not much pigeons because it was still very cold); Now Sunday 14 April with south western wind from Duffel against 3673 pigeons  I start with 2-4-6-14-16-19-20-21 (see the results I have enclosed, the pigeon who pick the 1e before me today is a pigeon of the chairman of my club , a good old house friend of me, and so this is a  pigeon of my pigeon Family origin of the old lines. I have myself for 2015  in total 22 cocks on my racing loft and 26 Hens to race. As you know every pigeon on my loft go nearly every wk in the basked. This wk I decide to keep 2 cocks at home because the like head wind and there will be a south west fast wind, so I basked 46 pigeons and won 27 price list on 1 to 4 price system here.
The 1e price winner to 1626 pigeons of last wk was Blue Power who have all old bloodlines of my loft in his pedigree, the pigeons who won today price 2 on 3573 is a son of Frederica,  who won last year 2 times 1e of the total  NPO afd 12 with 1e Asse Zelik to 8538 pigeons and 1e Pt St Max to 8471 pigeons. This son of Frederica was catches as young last year by my Rottweiler dog,  and poorly damaged. A little wonder he recovered so that he is able to race on the top. Price 4 to this 3573 pigeons is the Pikkert  now and last wk price 7 to 1626 . This Pikkert won last year 2 to 9224 and 2 to 8471 and 2 to 4305 and 2 to 4279  and 11 to 4279 when she was lost on a disaster race. I get here back totally empty but , she returned and   so it looks now she is also good recovered form the disaster last year, but I will race here only this year on races when the look to get good weather so that she get not a second disaster race.

May 2nd, 2015

Here the results of the race this afternoon. The weather in France was disturbed and the car have to come back to Belgium were the put them out by a south eastern wind power 3. I was afraid of it, because it is with south east nearly  always radio disturbed in the air , with pigeons a lot of time flying around above there loft and waste time before they come in the loft. I play with my loft on the east site of the western coast Rayon, that is also not positive for my chance as you understand.
But  the pigeons were coming out the western coast line as expected, but super today again, they lost nearly no seconds and made against 4210 pigeons  price  5-6-7-8-9—13-15-23-27-30-43-47-58  with  al my total loft  of 46 pigeons in the basked, I had there  38 in de price list in our system in Holland  1 on 4 pigeons in concurs in the points /price list.

Results this weekend

Here we had again for the 3e time no possibility to race on Saturday because the bad weather, but today on Sunday we had good weather.
We had 2 races, a Vitesse race 248 km from Peronne and a day race 533 Km  form Blois. I t was a pity that just there in Blois the weather was not good and they have to wait until 10.15 to put them out. With a most sunny weather, and West North western wind  on Peronne and a North western on Blois, the made more as 1400 meter a minute on Peronne and on Blois the made here 1179 meter a minute for the 1e in the Combine.
As everybody understand, we know is most weeks west in the wind,  and with the pigeons from France coming from the south, it is impossible to race for the top provincial,  in  case against the east side of the Province have the wind in there profit.
On my own loft the big form is with the cold weather last wks (it was a lot of days between 3 and 6  degrees Celsius  in the night  and not more as 10 Celsius on the day) on my open lofts I suppose to long cold.
As you know normally I am always for the 1e price in battle, now price 22 -24-41 (and 50% price) on Blois against 1648 pigeons is a little to late for me. Positive was that several of them are very fresh arrived from this tough day race after 7,5 hour head wind.
On Peronne it was in the combine strange enough with this wind the coast places who take the top this morning ,  I start with 37 and 41 to 2397 Pigeons and 19 in the price list from 27 in the basked from me.
The pigeons in my team  look very well, temperature here is better now,  so next wk I hope I get them back in the top.

1e overall west side of south Holland against 5960 pigeons

After 2  very tough cold North west wind races from 540 Km last weekend as I wrote you, I  keep this week 35% pigeons at home , and played 26 Pigeons on Nanteuil 335 Km with a strong west south western winds.
I am Happy to tell you now 30 May 2015 I won again 1e overall west side of south Holland against 5960 pigeons.
After 2 wks ago  have a unusual of day,  out of the top, ( as I told you after treating against feather louse) ,  last wk as you can read here under this message in my message of last wk was OK, but this week the form seems 98% returned, and bring me the 1e price here of 5960 pigeons from West (coast)  side of province south Holland.
Interesting I suppose to tell that last wks I have give the hens  ( who raced not as good as the cocks what is very unusual over the last 25 years for me) some orni cure of Dr. H. de Weerd/ Belgica to test for myself if there was some orni problem.
You know  I am nearly never use some medicine, but don’t want be more Holy as the pope, so I give as test after a bad race 2 wks ago, the hens this orni cure,  and the cocks nothing, as only garlic extract in the water, extra on the usual garlic parts.
Again the same as last years as I do this test the same way, the Cocks on only extra Garlic win the 1e and best top prices, the orni cure was again for nothing,  so only bad that the get some.
I also suppose there have be possible by the cold weather week after week here in Holland, to less energy foot be given by me before that race 2 wks ago that I missed the top,  so I have feet them last 2 wks some more fat energy corns.
Next point is, I try and succeed  get the condition back at my team,  with over the food last 2 wks, some garlic/ fisch oil  &  yeast & eggs food & honey &  vegetable juice, this  2 days on Monday and Tuesday over the foot

Results June 19th, 2015

Here the results 2015 of my loft until 6 June 19, 2015
With the 1e last wk of the west side of south Holland Province, a lot calls and message that this was very special with this for me most wrong western wind.
Yesterday, we had 2 races.
I have send 7 of my pigeons to Vierzon 552 Km and 20 of my pigeons on Peronne 249 Km
On Peronne I scored 15 price on my 20 pigeons with  1-5-7-10-16-17-18-22-23 etc in club is  8-27-29 etc on 2155 pigeons
Vierzon was later on the day arrivals with a very strong western wind in a bad provincial position for us here in the area  price 2-5-20 is 14 -36 –in the combine  on 1331 pigeons
This Last wk the pigeons look very well , after give  them my weakly  good care and the for me usual natural things, and I suppose I have to be happy with how they arrived. Started here with 3 x 1e combine and 1 x 2e and 1x 3e so far here nobody do better.

Last Saturday 25st April 2015 in Holland most combines go basketing for 4th time, so also we here, with our combine for a race from Menem/Moeskroen.

So far the pigeons this season doing for me just as good as last year.  I had 40 pigeons in the basked from the 47 in my loft (7 at home because there were expected bad raining cold weather) (21 cocks and  26 hens is my total race team)  because the doing very well this first three weeks, and the condition was fine, I expect the will doing well even with this bad weather what was expected .
I have feed them normal as for middle distance races because they must be able to stand hours in the air if necessary with bad weather. This means in the begin of the week after the last race first 70% and later on Tuesday 30% mariman super diet and the other % 2  varieties of the best widower food, Wednesday evening and Thursday as much as they like, and Friday for basketing only a half a spoon mariman diet.
The do there training  very well around the loft 2 times a day 1 hour,  and the body was at the moment of basketing super. Light and full body. As told before I never show the hens to the cocks before the race, and put them  total quid in the basked. I never bring them away for a training, the here doing this very well them self.
Paired up with Christmas the bring 2 youngsters each pair, and were separate on there youngsters on 14 days. After weaning the youngsters,  I have start the training daily 1 time a hour around the loft, and keep them quiet on diet food . From around 1e April with good weather the start training 2 times a day. Looking at the results I go on with my system. It is simpel  and good it seems.
The pigeons going out the baskeds in Moeskroen as soon as rain was a moment gone, 12.10 hour, with a south western wind . Our race was going much better (more high speed)) as the rest of Holland. We are Lucky.
I  expected the pigeons around  13.40,  so when 13.38 one arrived it was no surprise .Soon  is was clear it good be the first, because the whats up to day show no faster in the area.
In a few hour we have in Holland our results from Compuclub computer service, and yes, I have again the 1e , this time to against 3376 pigeons.
After the very good results last year 2015, it go this year 2015 it seems the same.
1e time basketing  4 April 2015 met 1e -5e -6e 9e in Rayon on 1626 pigeons on  Essen Nispen.( not much pigeons by a noord noord eastern wind,   very cold head wind )
the 2e week 11 April de 1e champion points race from Duffel with south western wind and extra day basked to free on Sunday, good calm weather I start against 3673 pigeons with  2-4-6-14-16-19-20-21 etc
last wk 18 April from  Oudenaarde a eastern wind, for me on the east side of my western Rayon  not easy,  start with  27e against  4182 pigeons but I had 38 pigeons in the price from 47 . ( as told I Leo , have  22 cocks and  26 hens as total race team )
first wk  1e  was  topper 403,  Blue Power , next wk Duffel the son of the super Frederica (is son  010= Mr Perfect x  Frederica) the  2e in the combine (Frederica last year  1e on  NPO afd 12 Kuststrook on   1e Asse Zelik against  8538 pigeons and the 1e Pt St Max to 8471 pigeons. )  Now this 1e is from a New line talent,  from the famous National day race ace , the Harry line, the yearling  364 who take 1e to  3376 pigeons.

1st on NPO afd. 12 'De Kuststrook'

Yesterday here it was again no good weather; with rain on the line and (for me) bad westernwind 4, what made it impossible to win the 1e here in the NPO afd 12 , the Kuststrook, but…I did !!! Unbelievable !! So the impossible 1st in NPO afd. 12 with this wrong wind, I made in 'De Kuststrook' Rayon the 1-10-12-17-20-33-39-43-52-57-69-76 on 3225 pigeons. The pigeons team is high class and they were in perfect condition so with good wind & weather I expect the had to do even better, but I know that I have to be happy with what I have now. The winner was a cross of my old Benjamin family, son of the Bourges 096 (was a son of Benjamin 090, Benjamin lines cross well with everything) with this time a cross with a hen of Kanibaal (Dirk van Dijk, Belgian).
As you maybe have read earlier, this season some of this results of the old pigeons:
1-2-3-5-13-16 etc against 4084 pigeons
1-2-8-14-34-39 etc against 8471 pigeons
1-2-26 etc against 8543 pigeons
1-2-7 against 3874 pigeons

And this of the young pigeons; Last weeks we had 1 very disturbed weather weekend (a very little & dead south eastern wind) and we have 3 weather weaks like this, not super but I can work with this. The results:
3-5-6-9-11-17 etc  against 4812 pigeons, 26th of July
2-3-6-8-10-11-14 etc against 4898 pigeons, 9th of August
5-6-7-8-9-10-14-22 against 3678 pigeons, 16th of August
Yesterday in NPO afd. 12 the impossible 1st of 6032 pigeons and in my area/Rayon, 1-10-12-17-20-33-39-43-52 -57 -69-76  in het Rayon against 3225 pigeons is good again. I am very happy with the results this season you will understand (now I do everything on my own again), it's going good like the old times with the King & Keizer & Hattrick & Reply & Benjamin.

Last weekend , 30 August, result young pigeons Pt. St Maxence

On the young pigeons race I started with  1-3-4-5-8 to 424 pigeons what was 9-20-21-22-40 to 2642 pigeons. This was Ok I suppose with this weather, but on total afd 12 with this tough westernwind and a lot of rain from the see,  we got the pigeons from the eastside because they were forced by the heavy rain to go to the east. The early pigeons were there (east of me, the Rayon Westland Den Haag) and overall I had their 42-83-84-85 to 5087 pigeons, not good but good in this circumstances.
